The plunge, gardens, and cereal!

I did it! I took the plunge and signed up to be a Creative Memories Consultant. I’m sooo very excited and terrified at the same time. Creating family albums has become a passion. It’s just so very important to preserve those memories, for us as we grow older, and for our children as they grow up. The prospect of running my own business is daunting, but this will allow me to continue to stay at home with my family while bringing in some income and feel like I’m contributing something back. Please let me know if you or someone you know may be interested in having a get together to learn more. It could be about anything from simply organizing all of your photos, to putting together paper and/or digital albums. I would love to help! I’m also hoping to help bereaved parents preserve their children’s memories. It can be very difficult to do that on your own.

The secret garden project is back in motion. We have a sprinkler man coming out tomorrow to give us a final quote to install the sprinkler system, and then he will be available in two weeks to do the job. I can’t wait to get this done so we can move on to the fun stuff, the actual landscaping and plants!

Madie is eagerly awaiting her summer break so she can sleep in, while Lily has decided that sleeping through the night is over-rated. I think Lily needs to take a cue from her older sister! Lily has also started on solids. Rice cereal and apples are the current menu, we’ll try bananas in the next couple of days. She’s really starting to get the hang of it.

Thanks for checking in on us. We’d love to hear from you so leave us a comment!

Lily’s first bite. Yumm!

Either she likes the cereal, or she’s just happy to be in nothing but a diaper.

Here’s Madie in her rock climbing class. She made it all the way to the top!

That is awesome Melinda, congrats on the new business. That is both an amazing and scary thing. Let me know if you need a test run, as I will gladly be a guinea pig. Not that I know many people that you don’t, but will do anything to help.

Madie can climb to the top, that is just WOW. I have hard enough time doing it myself, give her a high five for me. We need to get together soon, I miss ya.

hugs to all of you wonderful Steadmans!!!

Wow, a real consultant, must make you feel proud that you will be helping others through their grief. You have a lot to share and this is going to be a really good way to do that. Maddie looks awesome climbing up the wall, she is so adventerous! It will be hard keeping her down when she keeps going. She will be a great teacher for Lily.

Hugs to you all, Howard and Vicki

Haven’t talked to you guys in ages so I thought I’d check in to see if there was an update! Congrats to you, Melinda! I think this is a great opportunity for you to earn some extra money and to help others at the same time.

What great pictures of Miss Madie and Lily! They are both growing so much. It’s hard to believe that Lily is eating solids already. My how time does fly.

    Love,
    Tara and Neal

Just a note to let you know that we are thinking of you. We’ve lovingly planted more yellow flowers this spring. Ben’s life has given the color yellow a special place in our hearts.

The girls’ pictures are so cute! Thanks for sharing them with us. Can’t hardly wait until Sept. to be with them in person and give them hugs.
    With love,
    Rich & Dot

I so enjoy looking into the web page!! The photos are fabulous and your honesty with journaling is amazing!!!! What a great example you are to everyone and to those who will, unforunately, follow in your footsteps.
    Ben will never be forgotten!!
I cannot believe how much Maddie has grown since Ben passed away.
I firmly believe that we allowed to speak to our loved ones for a few minutes if we call for them! this seems only fair and I feel those I want to be near, near me. It does’t always last a long time, but even for a fleating moment, it is comforting. We must remember we are never alone. We have angels with us every moment.
Lily is so beautiful!! How much fun to have her in your lives! A sister for Maddie! Way cool!!
I would dearly love to know if the stuffed animal collection will continue. I am such a sucker for them myself, as when I was growing up we never had money for such things that I am buy them all the time now. I get home and think, gee I wish I knew someone/child who would enjoy this. So, if you could let me know, then I WILL have a legimate excuse for buying them!
I hope often to catch up with you all.
keep blogging please!! It is helpful in so many ways, and I KNOW your help to other families who have lost their children will be needed/appreciated and it will grow. Such a service!
Best of wishes and memories to you all!

I have to apologize for not being there to help you all. I was recently diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and have not had the energy or health to work with the support group but have plans to get it going again soon!

I am glad you are doing well. I love the Creative Memories stuff. Sounds like it is right up your ally.

The consultant I have used in the past will have monthly parties at her home. It might be something to think about, especially for grieving family members who want to get into scrapbooking.
