Relay For Life
We’re honored to have Laura Morris participating in the Brighton Relay for Life in Ben’s memory this July. It’s wonderful to see so many people standing up to provide support for cancer research and to those touched by this disease.
Please take a few moments and contribute at her site here.
And head on over to the American Cancer Society website if you’re interested in participating too.
Thank you

I am participating in memory of my sister Laurianne in Santa Rosa, CA this September. She kept asking me if I would walk with her this year, so I feel I should be there.
I will be thinking of Laurianne, Ben and many others when I walk.
Thinking of you all this morning…wanted to let you know I love you very much!!!
Haven’t seen an update in a while, and I just wanted to let you know that I’m thinking about all of you.

Melinda and Dean, if it’s o.k. with you, I’d like to walk in the Carbon Valley Relay for Life in Ben’s memory. Your family and the grace your showed during all of this was such an inspiration not only to me and my family, but the Carbon Valley Academy community and board, and the Tri-Towns at large.
I will be on the MOMS Club of the Tri-Town Area’s team. I’ve posted about it on my blog at http://mamarant.blogs.com/a_mamas_rant/2006/06/relay_for_life_.html. If anyone wants to donate to our team (or needs a team to join and lives in the area - you don’t have to be a moms club member) please email me at amnichols@mesanetworks.net. Or you can donate via the PayPal button on my blog.
Thanks all.
We think of you often with loving thoughts. The goldfinches continue to fill our trees and eat at the bird feeder. They remind us of Ben and his love of yellow.
Our plan is to be in Denver next weekend. We are truly looking forward to being with all the family. See you soon.
Love, Dot & Rich
Thinking of you tonight…Happy Father’s day Dean!!! I love you all!!
LOVE YOU GUYS!!!! Just thought I tell you that cuz it is important!!! :o)
Hey!
Though we have been gone for approximately a month now, we think about those near and dear to our hearts that we had to leave behind!
I didn’t get so see you on my last day of school and was very saddened by that. I think about your family often and check your blog several times a day hoping there’s a new posting.
I know you need someone to lean on and I am here. Though I have not had to face the circumstances life threw at you, I do know what it is like to experience great pain as a family unit. My parents and I have grieved the lack of normalcy to my brother’s life since I can remember. That pain just keeps becoming deeper the older he gets. We have watched him go from being a highly functioning mildly handicapped man to a HARDLY functioning moderately handicapped man! We are doing everything we can for him, but, as you know, there’s a point when all you can do is accept the reality of the circumstances! Though we cannot control those circumstances, we can choose how to respond. WItnessing the strength and graciousness you two had while in the midst of traveling Ben’s journey with him was absolutely incredible. I know that several others agree with me! However, don’t feel afaid or ashamed to feel the immense amount of pain and sorrow that comes with the loss of your child. Don’t ever feel alone in grieving. There are sooooo many friends that care about each one of you and want to be there as a crutch for you to lean on!
The point I am trying to make is…. I miss you, I miss Ben. My heart continues to ache for you. Your family touched me and many others in a way that I will never be able to explain. I want you to know I will always be here today, tomorrow, next year, in five years. Just because we’re seperated by miles, my thoughts of your family will always be near to my heart!
Please update me!
Love you all,
Alisa

Thinking of your family,

Dear Steadman Family.
I am so sorry to read about your loss. I just happened to stumble upon your site. I want you to know that I too participated in Relay for Life in Monterey California this year (July 06). This was my 2nd time. It’s a great cause especially after reading your story. Please feel free to look at my site. You will see in my July archives our camp site and team Family of H.O.P.E. (Helping Other People Everywhere). I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.
